Col Amit Kumar (Veteran), is a practicing Advocate based in Delhi. He began his career as a direct entry commissioned officer in the SIKHLI INF in June 2000 and later transferred to the Judge Advocate General's branch. In 2008, he married Col Annu Dogra, making them the first JAG couple in the Indian Armed Forces and a pioneering example worldwide. Col Amit Kumar is a highly experienced JAG officer, recognized as the "Best Student" at the Tri-Services Institute of Military Law. He has received commendations from esteemed legal authorities such as the Attorney General and Solicitor General of India, as well as COAS commendation cards and an Army Cdr Southwestern award. Col Amit Kumar has also authored the book "HANDBOOK OF MILITARY LAW FOR THE GUIDANCE OF COMMANDING OFFICERS AND OTHER REGIMENTAL OFFICERS," which became a popular bestseller on Amazon. Apart from his legal expertise, he is also a motivational speaker, inspiring others with his knowledge and experiences.

He is the son of Lt. Col. Satbir Singh Gill (retd.) who dedicated 39 years of his life to the Infantry, serving with distinction in renowned regiments (RAJPUT, SIKHLI INF and JAKLI INF). Inspired by his father's legacy of service, he embarked on a legal career, focusing on matters related to the Armed Forces.
With a passion for justice and a commitment to serving those who have served our nation, he began practicing law in 2019. Recognising the importance of specialised knowledge in military legal affairs, he sought to expand their expertise by obtaining the prestigious Judge Advocate General (JAG-24) recommendation from 20 SSC Bhopal.
He has developed a strong proficiency in handling cases pertaining to disability claims, pension matters, and disciplinary proceedings within the armed forces. His in-depth understanding of the intricacies of these areas of law has enabled him to provide effective representation to clients before the Armed Forces Tribunal.
